PIZZA PASTA SAUCE | How to make Pizza Pasta Sauce | Handy Recipe |Stepwise Pictures

Hi SUPERMOMS,

Today's recipe is a very interesting one. Kids love pasta and pizzas. It is so easy to make at home,if you have the sauce ready. Store bought sauces and pastes are not a healthy option as it has lots of preservatives. I make this sauce regularly and store it in the refrigerator for more than 10 days. Of course, the very presence of the sauce in your fridge motivates you to pack delicious snacks for your kids tiffin. NOW ,let's get to making the sauce.

INGREDIENTS

1.Ripe tomatoes- 10 to 15
2. Bell peppers -red,yellow and green (half of each)
3. Onions-4
4.onions(shallots)-10 to 15
5.green chillies-4 (you can add more if you want it spicy)
6. Mixed herbs
7.salt to taste
8.garlic pods -8 to  10

STEP 1:

In boiling hot water, put all the tomatoes so that the skin comes out(blanch them).

STEP 2:

Cut the vegetable ingredients (raw). Put them in a tall mixer jar and grind them to a paste. This includes the peeled tomatoes. The riper the tomatoes, the richer the colour of the sauce! Do not add water while grinding.

STEP 3:

Take a large heavy bottom pan/kadai. Add a tbsp of Olive oil. When the oil is hot,add the ground paste. Add salt according to your taste and let the mixture cook. Be careful as the sauce might splutter...so close with a lid . Every five minutes, open the lid and stir. You will see the rich tomato colour in the sauce.  It will take at least half an hour for the paste to thicken. For pasta, the sauce can be a little watery. But for pizza, it will be nice to have a thick sauce. Since we use  vegetables other than tomatoes also, this is like our Arabiatta sauce.

STEP 4:
When you see oil in the sides of the pan, the sauce is almost done. As this stage, you can add the Italian herbs like Oregano, thyme, Parsley, Rosemary etc. Stir the sauce and switch off.

Your pasta/pizza sauce is ready to be bottled!!!!

This is a handy sauce - tasty, healthy and full of flavours. So easy to make. Try it today and send me your feedback.

You are sure to bring more smiles!

HAPPY COOKING!
