Pico de Gallo | Mexican Salsa Fresca | How to make Salsa at Home

Hi Supermoms,

'Pico de Gallo' is a Mexican salad of uncooked vegetables. It is also popularly known as the Salsa Fresca. Finely chopped vegetables like onions, tomatoes, deseeded green chillies are mixed together along with salt and lemon juice and garnished with fresh cilantro .  Easy to make , this Mexican dish can be teamed perfectly with nachos, burritos , tostada as a dip. Simple and delicious.

Do remember to make this salsa for your potluck party or family get togethers . Evening snack can also be made healthy with this dish. 

Pico de Gallo | Salsa Fresca :

Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time : nil
Serves : 4

Ingredients :

1 onion
3 tomatoes
1/2 bell pepper /capsicum ( I added green, you can add other colours also)
1 green chilli ( deseeded and finely chopped)
1 tablespoon of finely chopped cilantro/coriander leaves
Juice of 1 lemon ( adjust)
salt to taste

Method:

1. Add all the ingredients together and mix well and serve along with your chips/nachos/tostadas.

Chef Tip: 

1.If you are preparing the salsa for later, add onions, lemon juice and salt to the rest of the ingredients only before serving.
2. If you are preparing this salsa during summers, you can refrigerate the salsa for half an hour and then serve.
